Private Alexander Johns, the son of Peter Johns, of Picton, Ontario, and the late Christina Johns was born in St. Regis. He enlisted in 1915 and was wounded in Europe. He returned to Canada and died of phthisis on December 31, 1920, probably a result of being gassed, at the age of 23.

Additional Service Notes
Died at Mowat Sanatorium, Portsmouth, Ontario. Was admitted acutely ill, and was confined to bed until the time of his death. Shortly after admission he developed intestinal tuberculosis and died on 31 Dec 1920
