Huntingdon Notes – Returned Soldiers

The following returned soldiers were duly received by the band on arrival. Pte. Thomas O’Connor, 3rd son of Jos. O’Connor, Godmanchester, enlisted in Calgary in 1917. Saw service in France and Germany occupation arrived home on April 13th.

Pte. Raymond Miller, son of Jas. A. Miller arrived home on April 16th.

David Ross has had an unusual experience. He went with the expedition to Siberia, but the ship sprung a leak when 150 miles out and had to return to Victoria, to learn that the expedition had been abandoned. He is now in Montreal awaiting his discharge.

Gordon D. Ferry, third son of C.S. Ferry, Boydsettlement returned home on Friday.

Capt. James Purcell V. S. came from Egypt to visit his mother.


Boydsettlement is Boyd('s) Settlement, Quebec, the NE corner of Hinchinbrooke Township
