There are quite a number of Canadian soldiers in England who are being absorbed into English life without going through the formality of getting their discharge from the army, and it is stated if they do not soon notify the authorities where they are living and what they are doing they will forfeit their gratuity and the return passage to Canada.
Such was the statement made to The Herald by Capt. W. B. Halhead, of the C.A.M.C., who returned to Calgary three days ago. It is stated that the number of men who are staying in England having received their discharge there will run into thousands, but it is expected that many of these will return to Canada after the present high wages over there commence to subside.
