The 204th (Beaver) Battalion of Toronto was split up to provide reinforcements to other units after arriving overseas.

CANADA COULD HAVE SAVED THE SITUATION

Britishers Would Not Have Been in Turkish Prisons if Big Force Had Been Sent.

The fact that British troops have been forced to surrender to Turks should serve as a louder and stronger appeal to the blood of Canada to join in the fight for the empire, was the declaration of Lieut.-Col. W. H. Price in calling for recruits for the 204th Beaver Battalion at the Teck Theatre last night. Col. Price struck a fine vein, which was keenly appreciated by his audience, when he declared that if Canada had only sent plenty of new long ago there would not be British troops in the Turk prisons tonight.

While theatre meetings were held in twelve houses, another particulary enthusiastic gathering was at the Park, where Col. Price touched upon the question of conscription. In his opinion, the cause of Great Britain is weakened owing to the fact that she is wrangling as to whether it shall be single or married men who go to the front, when all should be in khaki.
