Earlscourt Toronto Depot for 216th Battalion C.E.F. Bantams.

DEPOT FOR BANTAMS.

A recruiting depot for Burton's1 Bantam Battalion was opened in Earlscourt yesterday at the Belmont Assembly Hall, St. Clair avenue west, in charge of Lieut. Gordon Williams.2

The 216th Battalion enlisted its first recruit from the Earlscourt district.  Pte. J. H. Knight, and quite a large percentage of the men enrolled to date are residents of the northwest district.  Lieut. Williams expects good results from the new depot.
