Dear Folks at Home:-
I really haven't had a chance to write letters for this last 2 weeks or so but I am taking advantage of the opportunity now to write you.
I received your parcel dated about Feb 7th on March 26th . The cake and candy certainly were great and the cocoa came in very handy too. If you can get canned heat of any description I wish you would send me some as it comes in very handy when a fire isn't available.
I can't tell you much about our trips in the trenches because you will notice what is on the outside of this envelope but we all got along OK and have become somewhat accustomed to it.
I wish you would send me one of those small writing pads in some of your parcels. A YMCA is not always handy and paper is often a scarce article.
Alf Gilroy paid us a call the other day and he is just the same as ever. He hasn't broadened out much but is much fatter in the face which makes him look better than he used to.
This isn't much of a letter but I am just writing it to tell you that we are all O.K. in every respect.
With best love to all
John
P.S. Please tell me if the envelope is opened by the censor.
