Dear Folks at Home:-

I  have put off writing this last few days because a Canadian mail came in a day or so ago and I have been waiting to get a letter from home but none has come thus far.

Yesterday I received a parcel of socks, handkerchief etc. from the Girls’ Patriotic League.  I will have to write to them today to let them know that I have got them all right.

None of the parcels have arrived lately but I am still living in hopes.

Well this is the 12th of July and I suppose all the Orangemen in Mount Forest will be celebrating as per usual.  On dinner parade today I saw one fellow wearing an orange and blue sash so evidently the day isn't forgotten over here.

Jack Swirley was around to see us the other day.  He is a sergeant in the Machine Gun Battalion now.

We are having a little spell of wet weather this last few days and I hope it dries up soon as it certainly makes things miserable when it is wet.

I haven’t much news this time so must close.  WE are all well and hope you are the same.

Love to all

John
